It was only a matter of time...Justin Bieber is going on tour!
The "Love Yourself" crooner announced the news on The Ellen DeGeneres Show Wednesday. Of course, when the host asked him when the world tour will begin, the 21-year-old couldn't recall.
"This was the only thing I had to remember, and I can't remember," he said. Fortunately, a lower-third graphic informed audience members and home viewers that the Purpose World Tour kicks off March 9, 2016, with tickets going on sale next week. The Biebs' big announcement came on the heels of his consistent drop of new music in recent weeks, including "What Do You Mean?", "The Feeling" and "I'll Show You," off his new album.
The timing, however, is very interesting. Let's recall that he and One Direction have been in a bit of a feud ever since the boy band announced its new album, Made in the A.M., would be released the same day as Bieber's on Nov. 13. There have been snarky Snapchats and comments made from both sides, but it seemed to have settled in recent days—perhaps until now.

Although One Direction finished its final tour stop before going on hiatus, the boys haven't said goodbye yet. Their break is supposed to begin in March—the same time as Bieber begins his world tour.
    Coincidence...?
It's time to recall Semisonic's famous lyric, "Every new beginning comes from some other beginning's end." We're probably putting a more heartfelt, positive spin on Bieber's motivation to start in March, but hopefully this new tour will make the pain of bidding 1D adieu a tad easier.
In the meantime, we'll just be listening to Bieber's and One Direction's music on repeat all day long to prepare ourselves for the emotional month that will be March.
